2011 has seen revolutionary mass movements and 
uprisings
across North Africa and the Middle East. US
and Western backed dictators in Tunisia
and Egypt
fled in January and February. These mass movements have spread to Yemen,
 Bahrain,
Morocco, Jordan, and
beyond. The US, Canada and their allies have responded with its
bombing campaign and attacks on Libya
and have imposed a series of sanctions on the people of Libya and Syria.
 Today, 6 months after the
uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa began, the struggle for 
freedom
and against imperialist domination still continues in the Middle East 
and North Africa. Understanding this historical development
is the key to organizing an effective antiwar movement in Canada, the US
 and around the world. Join MAWO
to discuss:









 









>> What led to the toppling of the US backed dictators in Tunisia and Egypt
and the continued mass struggle in the Middle East and North
 Africa?









>> What was the goal of the US,
Canada and their allies to
bomb and attack Libya, as
well as to impose criminal sanctions on Libya
and Syria?









>> How should the antiwar movement respond to the
interventions of the US, Canada and their allies in the Middle East and North Africa? 











Screening 1 hour of documentary and news clips followed by speaker and
discussion.
