In 1976, 73 passengers and crew members of a Cuban airliner were
murdered in mid-air when a bomb orchestrated by Luis Posada Carriles
exploded, killing everyone on board. In 1997, Canadian resident Fabio
Di Celmo was murdered by a bomb planted by Posada's mercenaries in a
Havana Hotel. Posada is also responsible for leading torture and death
squads across Latin-America and escaped from prison in Venezuela for
the Cuban airliner bombing before making his way back to the United
States.

This is just a brief summary of the most famous terrorist in all of
Latin-America, who has operated for the past 50 years with the direct
support of the U.S. government. They have themselves even admitted he
was on the CIA payroll!

Meanwhile, 5 innocent Cuban men; Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero,
Ramon Labañino, Fernando González & René González, have been in prison
in the U.S. since 1998 for providing evidence about terrorist
activities directed against Cuba to the U.S. government. These 5 Cuban
Heroes infiltrated the right-wing terrorist groups Posada and others
like him lead, while harming no one and saving the lives of countless
Cubans and internationals.

Despite worldwide condemnation of Posada and demands for his
extradition to Venezuela, the U.S. government is only putting Posada
on trial for minor charges of perjury and immigration fraud, in El
Paso, Texas starting January 10. The hypocrisy is incredible, as the 5
Cuban Heroes have been sentenced to inhumanely long prison sentences
for protecting the world from anti-Cuban terrorists, especially Luis
Posada Carriles!

On January 10th the Free the Cuban 5 Committee- Vancouver is
organizing a picket in front of the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver,
joining groups protesting in El Paso, as well as in Montreal where the
family of the murdered Fabio de Celmo is supporting the action. This
will also be our 63rd consecutive monthly picket action demanding the
immediate freedom of the 5 Cuban Heroes from U.S. Jails.

En  octubre de 1976 alrededor de setenta y tres pasajeros  y miembros
de la tripulación de un avión cubano fueron asesinados en el aire por
la explosión de una bomba orquestada por Luis Posada Carriles. En
1997, el residente canadiense Fabio Di Celmo fue asesinado por la
detonación de una bomba planeada por los mercenarios de Luis Posada
Carriles en un hotel de la Habana. Posada también es responsable de
haber dirigido actos de  tortura y escuadrones de la muerte en toda
América Latina, y huyó de prisión en Venezuela evadiendo la justicia
del atentado del avión cubano para así  regresar a los EE.UU.

Esto es un breve resumen del terrorista más famoso en toda América
Latina que ha operado durante los últimos 50 años con el apoyo directo
del gobierno de los  EE.UU, e incluso el propio gobierno ha admitido
que Posada se encuentra dentro de la nómina de la CIA.

Mientras tanto, Cinco Cubanos inocentes, Gerardo Hernández, Antonio
Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González y René González han estado
en prisión en los EE.UU desde 1998 por haber proporcionado pruebas al
gobierno estadounidense sobre las actividades dirigidas contra Cuba.
Estos 5 Héroes Cubanos se infiltraron en los grupos de derecha
comandados por el terrorista Posada Carriles y otros grupos similares;
mientras no dañaban a nadie y salvaban la vida de un sinnúmero de
cubanos y extranjeros.

Pese la demanda mundial contra Posada y la demanda de su extradición a
Venezuela, el gobierno de los EE.UU sólo ha puesto cargos menores en
su contra como perjurio y fraude de inmigración, a partir del 10 de
enero en El Paso, Texas. ¡Es increíble la hipocresía como los 5 Héroes
Cubanos han sido sentenciados a largas penas de prisión inhumanas  por
proteger al mundo de los terroristas anti-cubanos, especialmente de
Luis Posada Carriles!

El 10 de enero el Comité de Vancouver para la Liberación de los 5 está
organizando una protesta frente al Consulado de los EE.UU. en
Vancouver, uniéndose a otros grupos como de El Paso y así también en
Montreal, en donde la familia de la victima Fabio Di Celmo está
apoyando la acción. Cabe mencionar que, está protesta mensual será
nuestra acción número 63 demandando la libertad inmediata de los 5
Héroes Cubanos de las prisiones de EE.UU.
