7 Years After the Coup ~ HAITI

In February of 2004 there was a U.S./Canada/France invasion of Haiti and a coup against democratically elected president Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Haiti is a country in deep political, social and economic crisis. Haiti is still under a UN occupation.

>> Why was Haiti already the poorest country in Latin America before last year's devastating earthquake?
>> Why did the US, Canada and France carry out a coup d'etat against the democratically elected government of Haiti in 2004?
>> Why are there 12 000 UN military soldiers and police in Haiti?

>> How should the antiwar movement respond to the ongoing occupation of Haiti?
