On January 14, 2011 the people of Tunisia rose up and overthrew the US and European backed corrupt and despotic government of Tunisia in a mass movement that had been building for several weeks. Since then, the powerful mass movement has spread to Egypt which has shut the country down for the past week with mass demonstrations against the US backed government of Hosni Mubarak. These protests and uprisings have also reached Yemen, Jordan, Algeria and other countries in North Africa and the Middle East. Join Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) to discuss:

>> What are the roots and causes of this mass struggle in North Africa and the Middle  East?
>> What has been the role of the US, France and other imperialists in causing this crisis?
>> What will the effects of the mass movement in Egypt be for North Africa and the Middle East?
>> What can we learn from this popular mass movement in Tunisia and the ongoing powerful social and mass movement in Egypt?
>> How should we respond, support and build the solidarity movement at home for the ongoing popular movement in North Africa and the Middle East?
>> How does this historical moment effect the antiwar movement? 

Screening 45 minutes of documentary and news clips followed by speakers and discussion

Speakers:
4 activists from Egypt, Tunisia and Iran will discuss the current situation in North Africa and the Middle East, and will reflect on the social and mass movements taking place in the region since the Iranian Revolution of 1979
