States will continue to find ways . . . to isolate and increase the pressure
upon the Iranian regime.” On December 14, 2011 Obama administration official
Frederic Hof was quoted saying “This regime is the equivalent of dead man
walking” in reference to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
