***Petition campaign demands: Hands Off Libya! Stop Bombing Libya!

For four weeks NATO has been heavily bombing Libya under the UN Security Council Resolution 1973 which enforces a "no-fly-zone" over Libya, allowing for whatever means necessary to "protect civilians."
 
Over the last few days the US/France/Britain/Canada/NATO war drive against Libya has been rapidly escalating. On April 14, 2011 the Presidents of the US and France and the Prime Minister of Britain issued a joint statement where they said a Libya with its current President, Moammar Ghaddafi, in power is "unthinkable." In this same statement they call for an increase in the attacks and bombings against the people of Libya that, since March 19, have already killed over 100 civilians and injured many more. 

The imperialist powers that claim to be concerned about Libyan people are the same imperialist powers that have killed over 1.5 million Iraqis since 2003, tens of thousands of Afghans since 2001, bringing death and destruction to millions of people around the world. 

The crocodile tears that they are crying are the same tears they cried for Afghanistan, Iraq, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Somalia and Sudan. This latest chapter in the New Era of War and Occupation must be opposed by all peace loving people. Join MAWO on April 16 to protest against the imperialist killings, bombings and destruction unleashed in Libya.
