50 years ago, on April 15th 1961, a group of armed counter revolutionary Cubans backed by the US government and CIA invaded Cuba at the Bay of Pigs in an attempt to crush the Cuban Revolution. Not only did the US and its allies fail to overthrow the government of Cuba and Fidel Castro, they also suffered US imperialism's first major military defeat in Latin America. This was a historic victory of the people of Cuba and their revolution. The defeat of US imperialism at the Bay of Pigs brought hope and inspiration to poor and oppressed people across Latin America and around the world.

This attack did not demoralize the Cuban people and its revolutionary leadership. Instead it put them in a better position to advance the Cuban Revolution starting the process of the Socialist project and Socialist Revolution.

Featuring the Vancouver premiere of the film:
“66 HOURS: THE TRUE STORY OF THE BAY OF PIGS”

Hace 50 anos el 15 de abril del 1961 un grupo armado de cubanos contra revolucionarios apoyados por el gobierno de los EEUU y la CIA invadió a Cuba en Playa Girón en un intento de aplastar a la revolución cubana. No solo fallaron los EEUU y sus aliados en derrocar a al gobierno de Cuba y a Fidel Castro también sufrieron  la primera derrota militar del imperialismo estadounidense en América Latina. Esto fue una victoria histórica del pueblo de Cuba y su revolución. La derrota del imperialismo estadounidense en Playa Girón trajo esperanza e inspiro a los pobres y pueblos oprimidos a través de América Latina y el mundo. Este ataque no desmoralizo al pueblo cubano y su liderazgo revolucionario. Al contrario los puso en una mejor posición para avanzar la revolución cubana dando comienzo al proceso del proyecto socialista y la revolución socialista.
