On September 12th, 1998, the 5 Cuban Heroes, Gerardo Hernández,
Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino, Fernando González & René González,
were kidnapped from their homes in the U.S. and placed in prison.

Over 3,400 people have been brutally murdered by terrorist groups
based in Miami. These 5 Cuban Heroes harmed no one and are in prison
for giving information they had collected to the U.S. government about
these groups, hoping that the U.S. would intervene and jail the
terrorists. However, instead of thanking the anti-terrorist Cuban 5,
the U.S. Government put them in prison and in some cases even denying
them the right of family visitations, while the terrorist responsible
for murdering 73 innocent passengers on a Cuban airline in 1976 walks
free in Miami.

This September will mark the 12th year of the unjust imprisonment of
these 5 Cuban Heroes. During this month supporters of the 5 around the
world will be organizing activities demanding the immediate release of
the 5 Cuban Heroes.

The Free the Cuban 5 Committee-Vancouver is inviting you to
participate in a daylong vigil on Monday September 13th, in front of
the U.S. Consulate. Throughout the vigil there will be live music,
poetry, art exhibits, information table, protest and much more to
honor the 5 and demand:

El 12 de septiembre de 1998, los 5 Héroes cubanos, Gerardo Hernández,
Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González y René González
fueron secuestrados de sus hogares en los EE.UU. y puestos en prisión.

Más de 3.400 personas han sido brutalmente asesinadas por grupos
terroristas radicados en Miami. Estos 5 Héroes Cubanos que no dañaron
a nadie y que están en prisión por haber entregado información al
gobierno de los EE.UU. acerca de lo que habían investigado respecto a
estos grupos, con la esperanza de que ese gobierno interviniera y
encarcelara a los terroristas. Sin embargo, en vez de agradecer a los
5 anti-terroristas cubanos, el gobierno de los EE.UU. los puso en
prisión e incluso en algunos casos les niega el derecho a las visitas
familiares; mientras que los terroristas responsables por el asesinato
de 73 personas inocentes en una aerolínea cubana en 1976 se pasean
libremente en Miami.

Este mes de Septiembre se conmemoran 12 años de injusto
encarcelamiento de estos Cinco Héroes Cubanos. Durante este mes los
partidarios de los 5 alrededor del mundo organizarán actividades
exigiendo la liberación inmediata de los 5 Héroes Cubanos.

El Comité de Vancouver para la Liberación de los 5 Cubanos está
invitando a participar a realizar una vigilia el lunes 13 de
Septiembre frente al Consulado de los EE.UU. A lo largo del día habrá
música en vivo, poesía, exposiciones de arte, mesa de información,
protesta y mucho más para honrar a los 5 y la demanda es:
¡LIBERTAD INMEDIATA PARA LOS 5 HÉROES CUBANOS!
