For over nine years the US, Canada, and their allies have been waging the new era of war and occupation on millions of people across the world. October 7, 2010 marked the 9th anniversary of the US-led war and occupation of Afghanistan. 2010 has seen the most misery and suffering from the war as the largest number of civilian killings since the war began happened this year. This year has also been the deadliest year for occupying troops. To add to this human tragedy, a July Wikileaks bombshell released over 70 000 pages of US military documents detailing torture and crimes in Afghanistan.
 
Earlier in October Wikileaks again released 400 000 pages of US military documents exposing crimes in its war and occupation of Iraq. Recently US President Barack Obama announced that the military mission in Iraq has come to an end despite 50 000 US troops that will remain there, plus tens of thousands of private military contractors. 

With no end in sight these wars and occupations must come to an end. Every day people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Haiti and elsewhere are fighting for their right to self determination, for their sovereignty and freedom. On October 30th MAWO is inviting on peace and social justice advocates in Vancouver to join in protest to demand:

END THE OCCUPATIONS of Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Haiti!
SELF DETERMINATION for Indigenous Nations, Tamils, and All Oppressed Nations!
US HANDS OFF Iran and Pakistan!
US HANDS OFF Latin America!
