8th Annual Vancouver International

FILM FESTIVAL 4 PEACE

December 18th and 19th, 2010

Britannia Community Centre Auditorium

1661 Napier Street (at Commercial
  Drive)

Vancouver, Canada

All Day ~ All Ages ~ All Free

The Vancouver International Film Festival 4
Peace will be captivating Vancouver audiences for the 8th year. The film festival promotes
peace through a unique collection of documentary and feature films. This annual
festival brings the reality of war and occupation to the big screen, and brings
to light the struggle for self determination and social justice being fought by
hundreds of millions of people around the world. Year after year, the festival
features films which span the world; from Latin
America to Africa, from the Middle East to Asia, and from Europe to here in North America. Audiences will
be taken back in time through historical classics, and will be some of the
first to see new premieres.

>From the Britannia Community Centre
Auditorium, see the world through different eyes. See Afghanistan through the eyes of a young man who sees his people occupied, or Iraq
through the eyes of a child whose school is now a foreign military post. Feel
the horror of a young soldier who realizes that he is committing atrocities in
an invading army sent to kill, not “help.” Feel the dignity of a Palestinian
mother who refuses to accept occupation for her people's children, and the hope
of an Indigenous Bolivian who fights for a new life in her land. And of course,
the resistance to these attacks and the strength and humanity of those fighting
back is reflected throughout the festival.

Special opening presentations will
highlight each day, as well as guest presenters, art exhibits, and more.
Admission is free, and food and refreshments will be available.

Mark the date on your calendars and take part in this one of a kind political
and cinematic festival!
