On November 12 the government of Canada announced it will extend its mission in Afghanistan beyond the end date of 2011, to 2014. This extension of Canada's war and occupation of Afghanistan comes during what has been the most deadly year of this 9 year war. More Afghan civilians have been killed this year, and more US and NATO occupying forces have been killed in 2010 than any year.

Canada's extension of the war will change the role of Canadian troops from combat to training. But the facts remain the same: Canadian forces will continue occupying Afghanistan while Afghans will continue to suffer civilian killings, torture, house raids, checkpoints, assassinations and air raids. As long as Canadian and NATO troops remain in Afghanistan, human rights and peace loving people in Canada, Afghanistan, and around the world will be calling for its end. Join Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) on the streets of Vancouver to demand:
