Featuring 60 minutes of documentary films and interviews by John Pilger and other film and news clips
 
Join in for this week’s MAWO Multimedia & Discussion night! These new events are a chance to get together for multimedia presentations, and to focus on discussing various antiwar issues. These evenings will take place every second Wednesday on a range of topics related to war and occupation.  
 
This week’s topic will look Latin America, where a growing trend of anti imperialist movements have raised independent governments such as in Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba. However, these countries are still facing covert and open US government interventions, military threats and in Cuba’s case both an immoral blockade and the occupation of Guantanamo Bay. In the most recent of many US backed coups, in June of 2009 the Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was overthrown, yet one year later the heroic resistance movement in Honduras continues to fight against the US supported illegitimate government.
