What is the Government of Canada’s Role of War in Afghanistan and What are the Tasks of the Antiwar Movement in Canada?

After over 8 years of war, the message from Afghanistan is clear ~ Foreign troops are not welcome to occupy Afghanistan. Today Colonel Geoff Parker became the 145th soldier to die in Afghanistan, when a NATO convoy was bombed in Kabul. He was also the highest ranking Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan. Here at home, as more information is coming out about Canada’s role in the torture of Afghan detainees, what is the best way to inform the public and organize against Canada’s occupation of Afghanistan, and the killings, destruction and torture they are responsible for? This forum will address why the antiwar movement should take the war in Afghanistan as a serious issue to organize and mobilize against.
