MAWO is encouraging all peace-loving people to attend the memorial in honour of Phillipa Ryan, a beloved mentor and inspiration of social justice activists in Vancouver and beyond, who passed away on Monday April 26th. Phillipa was an Indigenous elder, warrior and social justice activist, who impacted so many people
with her openness, honesty, strength and commitment to those facing oppression, injustice, war and occupation. Phillipa was a great leader whose message was unity in this time of struggle.
 
Memorial for Phillipa Ryan:
Wednesday May 5th
6:30pm
Downtown Eastside Women Centre, 302 Columbia Street
All, including men, are invited to attend.
 
*** MAWO Forum Postponed for Phillipa Ryan’s Memorial ***
 
In honour of Phillipa, Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) will be postponing the public forum, “Iraq: The Ongoing Strangle hold of War and Occupation” which was scheduled for Wednesday May 5th. MAWO
will instead be asking people to attend Phillipa Ryan’s memorial and to take this time to remember Phillipa Ryan who we were all privileged to have known. The forum will be moved to Wednesday May 12th.
