The Israeli Attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla: What Does this Mean for Palestine and the Antiwar Movement?

Since Monday May 31st, the world has seen videos and pictures of the 
Israeli military special forces’ attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, a 
convoy of ships with over 700 activists from around the world. The 
attack, which blocked thousands of pounds of aid from reaching Gaza, 
killed up to 19 peace and humanitarian activists while injuring dozens 
more. The Palestinian people of Gaza have been suffering under an 
Israeli blockade since 2006. In a response to the attempt to break this 
immoral and illegal blockade, Israel responded with the brutal massacre 
of peace and human rights activists.

regarding the flotilla massacre?
--> What does the attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla mean for the 
struggle in Palestine?

Special Guest Speaker Bill Dienst was on the “Liberty” vessel which in 
August 2008 was the first Free Gaza ship to successfully land in Gaza 
since the port was closed by Israel. Bill has participated in extensive 
healthcare and humanitarian projects for Palestinians in Gaza, the West 
Bank, and Egypt. Bill is currently a physician in Omak, Washington. He 
has been to Palestine on trips sponsored by the Gaza Community Mental 
Health Program, by Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility to 
Israel/Palestine, the Palestine Red Crescent Society and with the 
Palestine Medical Relief Society.

Bill will also present a slideshow of his trip on the Free Gaza ship in 
2008. Presentation will be followed by discussion.
