THE POWER OF COMMUNITY
How Cuba Survived Peak Oil
--------------------------

.:: FRIDAY JANUARY 8 ::.
7pm
Joe's Cafe – in the large North Hall
1150 Commercial Drive @ William Street
(Vancouver, BC, Canada)

Join Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) to learn about how, according the World Wildlife Federation, Cuba has become the only country in the world developing towards sustainability. This is despite the fact that the fall of the Soviet Union, forced Cuba into “the Special Period” when Cuba's food imports fell by 80%. What was Cuba’s response to this crisis? How did Cuba begin down its path towards sustainability? Join us for an interesting evening featuring the documentary film “The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil”. The event will also include poetry and discussion.

This event is by donation.
VCSC encourages attendees to purchase something to eat or drink from Joe’s Café.
