PUBLIC FORUM:
Haiti After the Earthquake: Why are there more Foreign Troops than Doctors, & How to Progress?

WEDNESDAY February 10
6:30pm
Britannia Community Centre
1661 Napier St (at Commercial Dr)

Since the January 12, 2010 earthquake that destroyed the Haitian capital of Port au Prince, the world has been exposed to the brutal reality of life in Haiti. Mainstream TV, newspapers, and the radio throughout Canada have focused on aid and especially the occupation troops that have been sent to Haiti by Canada, the US, and their allies to “restore law and order.” Another story that has emerged is the role of Cuba and the ALBA country’s response to help Haiti before and after the earthquake.

Feature Guest Speaker: Tamara Hansen
Speaking on the theme of “How to Help a Devastated Nation: Cuba’s Role in Haiti”
Tamara is the Coordinator of Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) and Co chair of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC)
