For nearly nine years Afghanistan has been controlled by a brutal foreign occupation force. The US, Canada, and their allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 stating that their invasion would liberate the Afghan people. But Afghan people have not seen so called "progress", and instead have endured civilian killings, rape, detention, torture, check points and air raids imposed on them.

On July 25th the WikiLeaks website released 75,000 secret US military documents exposing many civilian killings and other non-reported crimes by the US and their allies in Afghanistan. The scandal has not slowed down the brutality of the occupation. August 22nd saw another civilian massacre as a NATO night time raid killed at least 8 civilians, this time in Baghlan province.

This occupation needs to end, and Afghanistan must be able to decide its own future. MAWO is encouraging peace loving people to join the picket action, and demand:

CANADA/US/NATO OUT OF AFGHANISTAN NOW!
TROOPS HOME NOW!
SELF DETERMINATION FOR AFGHANISTAN NOW!
