What is the Future of Occupied 
Afghanistan?

The last two months have seen 
huge setbacks
for the U.S. and NATO in Afghanistan. In June the top US Commander, 
General
Stanley McCrystal, was fired and replaced by General David Petraeus, the
Butcher of Iraq. This was followed by the Wikileaks scandal that 
released 75,
000 pages of classified US military documents exposing many civilian 
killings
and other non reported crimes by the US in Afghanistan.

 

After nearly nine years of war 
and
occupation, what do the US, NATO, Canada and other occupiers of 
Afghanistan
have to show for? After hundreds of thousands of different occupying 
troops and
billions and billions of dollars spent in Afghanistan, resulting in tens
 of
thousands of Afghan civilian deaths, what are the goals of the occupying
 forces
now? Is the situation improving for Afghanistan or is it completely 
deadlocked?
What is next for Afghanistan, and what does its future look like? Why 
are we
defending the self determination of the people in Afghanistan?
