PUBLIC FORUM:
Haiti Three Months After the Earthquake: Where it is and Where is it Going?
WEDNESDAY April 21
6:30pm
Joe's Cafe ~ in the Large North Hall
1150 Commercial Drive
Vancouver, Canada
The January 15th earthquake in Haiti killed over 230 000 people and directly effected millions of Haitians. This happened to Haiti which was already the poorest country in the western hemisphere due to a history of colonialism and a present day foreign occupation imposed by Canada, France and the United States.
Since the earthquake, the plight of the Haitian people has been dropped by the western media. But what has happened in Haiti in the last three months since billions of dollars of western aid was pledged to help earthquake victims? Has the money and aid reached the Haitian people? Is the situation improving, staying the same, or getting worse? What plans do imperialists have for Haiti? What is the role of Cuba and Venezuela after the tragic earthquake?
