Indiscriminate US
missile drone attacks and a massive US backed Pakistani military operation is
currently how the US government has extended their war and occupation in Afghanistan to Pakistan, with the excuse of rooting out so called terrorists. The latest US
missile drone attack hit Pakistan
on Saturday May 16th, when two missiles killed at least 25 people in North Waziristan Province, as
reported by the New York Times. 

 

Under the pressure and full financial and
military support from the US government,
the government of Pakistan has launched a brutal military operation in the Lower Dir, Buner and Swat
districts of Pakistan, so called Taliban strongholds. Reports from Pakistan
put the death toll of this bloody offensive at over 1,000 people, and over 1.5
million displaced people.

 

>From Afghanistan, to Iraq, and now to Pakistan, this new era of war and occupation carried out by the forces of
the US, Canada and NATO is now causing death, destruction and undermining the self
determination of the Pakistani people. As the governments of the US and Pakistan
collaborate, opposition and protest is erupting in Pakistani. It is important
for the antiwar activists and peace loving people to discuss this escalating
situation of war in Pakistan and how the antiwar movement must respond.
