For over 7 years, the US/Canada/NATO occupation has devastated the people and of Afghanistan. Life in Afghanistan is defined by the barrel of an occupier’s gun at a checkpoint, air raids on villages, displacement and poverty. Throughout this criminal and unjust occupation, the Afghan people have been fighting for their basic right to self determination and an end to the occupation of there country. 
 
Here at home, Canada’s occupation of Afghanistan is becoming increasingly unpopular. On Friday March 20th, 4 more Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, in addition to 4 soldiers killed on March 3rd and March 8th. The death of these 8 soldiers in March brings Canada’s death toll to 117. Why are these soldiers, the last 4 all young men between 20 and 28 years of age, being sent to die? Why are tax dollars are being spent on war instead of crucial social services here at home? As peace loving people, we must protest and demand an end to this brutal and illegal occupation that is killing Afghan civilians for the colonial and imperialist plunder.
