On June 15th 2009, the Supreme Court of the United
States announced its decision not to review the case of the Cuban 5. Antonio
Guerrero, Ramon Labanino, Rene Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez and Gerardo
Hernandez, have been unjustly imprisoned in U.S. Jails for over 10 years. Their
crime? Investigating U.S. sponsored right wing, anti-Cuban terrorist
organizations in Miami that are responsible for the deaths of over 3,400
innocent Cubans.



The numerous evidence presented to the Court
exposed the fact that the 5 Cuban men could not have attained a fair trial in
Miami, the centre for anti-Cuban terrorism. Despite the international cry for
justice from millions of people around the world, including 10 Nobel Lauriat’s,
National Parliaments and the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the
US Supreme Court has rejected the request for reviewing the case of Cuban 5
political prisoners in US jails.



This June 15 decision to deny justice to the 5
Cuban heroes has made it unquestionably clear that the case of our 5 Cuban
brothers has been, from the very beginning, a political case. Thus, let us make
no mistake about it; it is a case that must be won through waging a nonstop
struggle based on a strong and consistent campaign. We must increase our
efforts multiply and intensify our work world wide to build a mass movement to
free the 5 heroes.



The Free the Cuban 5 Committee-Vancouver calls on
all peace loving people, in Vancouver, across Canada and around the world to
join the struggle to free the 5 Cuban heroes held in U.S. jails. Antonio,
Fernando, Rene, Ramon and Gerardo have never relied on the absent honesty of
the U.S justice system. They have relied on the support of millions of people
around the world who struggle for their freedom. 



In response to the June 15 decision, Gerardo
Hernandez stated “I repeat what I said one year ago, June 4, 2008, that as long
as one person remains struggling outside, we will continue resisting until
there is justice." 



The Free the Cuban 5 Committee-Vancouver will be
holding an organizing meeting on Monday July 6th 2009 to discuss what we can do
to increase the campaign to free our 5 Cuban heroes and make their case an
issue for people in Vancouver, and across Canada. We call on all peace loving
people in Vancouver to join us and get involved in the world wide campaign to:

El 15 de junio de 2009, la Corte Suprema de los
Estados Unidos anunció su decisión de no revisar el caso de los cubanos 5.
Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, René González, Fernando González y Gerardo
Hernández, quienes han sido injustamente encarcelados en prisiones de EE.UU. 
por más de 10 años. Su crimen? investigar el patrocinio de EE.UU. a grupos de
derecha, terroristas anti-cubanos en Miami, que son responsables de la muerte
de más de 3.400 cubanos inocentes. 



Las numerosas pruebas presentadas a la Corte
exponen el hecho de que los 5 hombres cubanos no han alcanzado un juicio justo
en Miami, centro de terorismo anticubano. A pesar del clamor internacional de
justicia de millones de personas en todo el mundo, incluidos 10 premios Nobel 
de la paz, Parlamentos nacionales y el ex Alto Comisionado de Naciones Unidas
para los Derechos Humanos, la Corte Suprema de los EE.UU. ha rechazado la
petición de revisar el caso de los 5 cubanos prisioneros políticos en EE.UU. 



Este 15 de junio la decisión de negar la justicia
a los 5 héroes cubanos, sin duda, ha dejado claro que el caso de nuestros 5
hermanos cubanos ha sido, desde el principio un caso político. Por lo tanto, no
nos equivoquemos al respecto, es un caso que debe ser ganado a través de una
lucha sin escalas sobre la base de una firme y constante campaña. Debemos
aumentar nuestros esfuerzos, multiplicar e intensificar nuestro trabajo en todo
el mundo para construir un movimiento de masas por la libertad de los 5 héroes.

de los 5 Cubanos. hace un llamamiento a todas las personas amantes de la paz,
en Vancouver, en Canadá y en todo el mundo a unirse a la lucha para liberar a
los 5 héroes cubanos encarcelados en prisiones de EE.UU. Antonio, Fernando, René,
Ramón y Gerardo   nunca han confiado en la honestidad ausente
del sistema de Justicia de los EE.UU. Ellos han confiado en el apoyo de
millones de personas en todo el mundo que luchan por su libertad. 



En respuesta a la decisión de 15 de junio, Gerardo
Hernández afirmó: "Repito lo que dije hace un año, 4 de junio de 2008, que
mientras una persona permanezca afuera luchando, seguiremos resistiendo hasta
que haya justicia". 



Declaración del Comité Vancouver para la libertad
de los 5 Cubanos ha organizado una reunión a celebrarse el Día lunes 6 de julio
de 2009, para discutir que podemos hacer con miras a intensificar la campaña
para liberar a nuestros 5 héroes cubanos y hacer de su caso un  asunto
importante para las personas en Vancouver, y en todo Canadá. Llamamos a todas
las personas amantes de la paz en Vancouver que se unan y participen en la
campaña mundial.
