UNITED RALLY AGAINST THE COUP IN HONDURAS!

Massive numbers of protesters continue to take to the
streets in Honduras to demand the immediate re-instatement of their President Manuel Zalaya, who
was removed from the country by military force in a coup d’etat on June 28.
People around the world have joined in solidarity protests, and despite violent
repression Honduran people have shown they are far from giving up.

The coup government of Roberto Micheletti re-imposed a
curfew and increased military presence on Wednesday as huge protests take place
every day, and highways across the country and surrounding the capital of Tegucigalpa continue to be taken over regularly by protestors.

In Vancouver,
the Committee in Solidarity with the Honduran People, a coalition of 26 groups
and organizations, has called for another protest on Sunday July 19th to
re-affirm our solidarity with the Honduran people, and stand against this U.S
plotted and supported coup whose goal is to re-open Latin-America to US foreign domination and exploitation. If this coup is successful, it would be a
huge step forward for the US strategy to push back the positive changes which have been happening around
Latin-America. 

Now is the time for unity! Please join us in this necessary
action, starting at 1pm at the Vancouver Art Gallery (753 Hornby Street at
Robson)

UNIDA CONTRA EL GOLPE EN HONDURAS!

Un gran número de manifestantes sigue tomando las calles en Honduras para exigir el
inmediato restablecimiento de su Presidente Manuel Zalaya, que fue expulsado
del país por la fuerza militar en un golpe de Estado el 28 de junio. Personas
en todo el mundo se han unido en protestas de solidaridad, y a pesar de la
violenta represión, hondureños han demostrado que están lejos de darse por
vencidos. 

El miercoles pasado el gobierno de Roberto Micheletti vuelve a imponer un toque de
queda y el aumento de la presencia militar.  Enormes protestas tienen lugar todos los días y carreteras de todo el
país y alrededor de la capital de Tegucigalpa siguen siendo tomado por los
manifestantes periódicamente. 

En Vancouver, el Comité de Solidaridad con el pueblo hondureño, que es una
coalición de 26 grupos y organizaciones, ha convocado otra protesta para el
domingo 19 de julio para reafirmar nuestra solidaridad con el pueblo hondureño,
y en contra de este golpe de estado apoyado y planeado con  EE.UU. El objetivo del golpe es volver a
abrir América Latina a la  dominación y la explotación de EE.UU. Si este golpe tiene éxito, sería un gran paso adelante
para la estrategia de los EE.UU. para hacer retroceder los cambios positivos
que se han venido sucediendo en torno a América Latina

Ahora es el momento de la unidad! Por favor, únase a nosotros en esta accion necesaria, a
partir de 1 p.m. en  Vancouver Art Gallery (753 Hornby en Robson Street)
