The unilateral ceasefire just declared by Israel does not mean an end to
the siege of Gaza where 1.5 million live in an open-air prison on the
brink of famine, let alone an end to the illegal, immoral, and unjust
occupation of Palestine. In the past three weeks, over 1000 Palestinian
people have been murdered and another 5000 injured including through the
use of illegal white phosphorous. We must call for the criminals
responsible for these acts of genocide to be brought to justice and demand
that the Canadian government and incoming US administration end their
complicity in Israeli war crimes. To the thousands that have come from
Vancouver to Surrey, please
continue to commemorate those who have died and to stand in solidarity
with the women, children, elders, and people of Palestine this week. Free
Palestine!
