30 YEARS AFTER THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION

In February of 1979, after months of massive protests by millions of Iranians, one of the largest mass movements and revolutions of human history was established in Iran. The heroic Iranian people kicked out the tyrannical U.S. puppet, the Shah and the monarchy, and also successfully expelled U.S. imperialism from Iran. In the 30 years since, Iran has remained the most important independent country in the region, which has impacted every corner of the Middle East, and significantly has had no diplomatic ties with the U.S. 

In the last 7 years, the U.S. government has launched a new era of war and occupation, in which Iran is a central goal. With the brutal wars on Afghanistan and Iraq, the U.S. has occupied the two main countries bordering Iran. 

This forum series, during the 30th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution, will examine the history of the Iranian revolution and the role which the Iranian people have played in the fight against U.S. domination. 

The first forum in the series took place on Wednesday February 11, and opened the topic of The Age of Revolution: Iran Before 1979. We invite you to the remaining two talks by Ali Yerevani, a witness, participant and political organizer in the Iranian Revolution, and Arash Sharifi, a social justice activist who recently returned from Iran. Forums are moderated by Payvand Pejvack, an organizer with the Iranian Community Against War. Forums include a multimedia presentation and will be followed by discussion.
