On December 1st, US President Obama announced his decision to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, further escalating the war and occupation against the people of Afghanistan. This was quickly followed by the commitment of 7,000 more NATO troops. 
 
What is the strategy of the US government in this new war escalation? What is the position of the government of Canada to this decision? What does this mean for the people of Afghanistan? What is the role of the antiwar movement in response to this war escalation?
