Vancouver Monthly Picket Action to Free the 5 Cuban Heroes Held in U.S. Jails!

In less than one month, 5 Cuban men, Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González will have spent 11 years unjustly imprisoned in the U.S. Their so-called crime is investigating U.S. sponsored anti-Cuban terrorist organizations in Miami that have been responsible for the deaths of over 3,400 innocent Cubans since the 1959 Cuban Revolution. 
 
This picket action will follow two more attacks on the rights of the 5 Cuban heroes and their families. On June 15th the U.S Supreme Court denied to review the case of the Cuban 5. Exactly one month later on July 15th, Adriana Perez, the wife of Gerardo Hernández, was denied visitation rights for the 10th time to visit her husband in a U.S jail. 
 
After 11 years without an embrace, the U.S. Department of State informed her again they had rejected her application, maintaining the assertion that she "constitutes a threat to the stability and national security of the United States." In doing so the U.S. Government is effectively breaking its own law by failing to maintain family integrity and undermining the human rights of detainees.
 
For the 44th time, peace loving people in Vancouver will come together to fight for the freedom and human rights of these 5 political prisoners and their families. The Cuban 5 Committee-Vancouver calls on all human rights activists and supporters to join this campaign and demand:
