August 13 marks the 83rd birthday of companero Fidel Castro. The Cuban Commander in Chief has conducted a life long struggle for a better world and led the Cuban people through 50 years of the Cuban Revolution. He has provided a model of the kind of revolutionary leadership that could make it possible for humanity to advance and to achieve highest moral integrity.
 
Millions of people around the world respect and admire Fidel Castro for his decisive and revolutionary role before, during and after the Cuban Revolution up until today. In Cuba, millions of people will participate in block parties and cultural celebrations of his 83rd birthday. Here in Vancouver, we will be celebrating with a night filled with live music, poetry, and multimedia presentations. Join Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba for this special cultural evening!
