Unite! Against U.S. Intervention in Latin-America
How the U.S. is Opening a New Era of War and Occupation in Latin-America

WEDNESDAY August 12, 2009
6:30pm

1150 Commercial Drive at William Street

With the June 28, 2009 coup d'etat in Honduras that overthrew the elected President, Manuel Zelaya, the United States opened a new chapter in the new era of war and occupation. For years different countries and governments in Latin America have broken away from US dominance and are searching for their own solutions to the problems created by centuries of foreign domination. Thousands of people in Honduras, Colombia, Venezuela, and many other countries have taken to the streets to oppose US hegemony. Join MAWO to discuss the growing resistance movement for independence in Latin America and why the new era of war and occupation in Latin America must be opposed.

Multimedia, Speaker and Discussion

Featured speaker: Thomas Davies, on the editorial board of the Fire This Time newspaper, and author of recent article, "Honduras: US Counter Revolution Strikes Back in Latin America"
