Hi everyone,
As you may be aware I've been busy working on a documentary for the last two
years and I am really excited to share with you the demo reel.
You can watch it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsAOoGapKMk
You may also be aware that the Harper government just recently slashed $45
million in arts and culture funding, making the present and (unless things
change) coming years an incredibly difficult time for independent artists to
receive any funding for their projects. Then there is always the complex
reality of trying to get funding for a documentary that is not character
based and is 'anti establishment'. Until now this project has been
completely self-financed. Boban and I are very committed to this project and
I very much believe that the time for a documentary that touches on these
topics is in urgent need. Once completed, in the spring we plan on visiting
communities across the country, screening the doc and having discussion
nights. Please let me know if you would be interested in organizing a
screening in your classroom or school, community space or library or home.
In order to finance the next few months of production to finish the
documentary we are asking that people and organizations pre purchase a copy
of the dvd for a suggested amount of 15$.
We are also asking that if you are a member of any peace or social justice
group to consider becoming a financial sponsor of the film.
If you are interested in pre-ordering a copy of 'Myths for Profit: Canada's
Role in Industries of War and Peace' you can send money via paypal to
amy at resist.ca or do an email bank transfer if you have a Canadian bank
account, or you can go the old school way of cheque in the mail to
6674 Rue Alma, Montreal, QC H2C 2W5
Please feel free to pass this link and message to people in your life.
Comments and feedback are very welcome.
Thank you in advance,
In solidarity and struggle,
Amy Miller
