Opposition to the Canada/NATO war and occupation in
Afghanistan was marked today with more heavy fighting,
along with the deaths of dozens of Afghan resistance
fighters, as well as a death of one Canadian soldier and
another wounded. The government of Canada’s politicians
and their lackeys claim progress and better living
conditions for Afghan people. However the truth is that
everyday life in Afghanistan is condemned to war and
occupation, and consequently a continuous misery for
Afghan people.
With the recent assassination attempt on the President
Hamid Karzai, along with increasing opposition to the war
and occupation at home, this forum-class will discuss the
quagmire that imperialist countries are facing after 6 ½
years of occupying Afghanistan and the deterioration of
life that the occupation has brought for the Afghan people.
We will discuss:
>> Why is the situation in Afghanistan worsening?
>> Why has Canada/NATO, as well as the US and UK
occupied Afghanistan?
Speaker: Nita Palmer, writer, researcher and author of
numerous articles on Afghanistan and editorial board
member of the Fire This Time newspaper.
6:30pm
In the Large North Hall of Joe's Cafe
