Join MAWO to continue planning for the coming
month of antiwar actions, such as the March 15th/16th
Global Action ~ World Against War which includes
Vancouver’s March 15th antiwar rally, and the March
16th conference in Seattle which will be MAWO’s first
time organizing an event across the border with US
antiwar activists.

Join MAWO for the bi-weekly education class to discuss
issues facing the antiwar movement today.

This week's discussion will focus on the Canada/NATO
occupation of Afghanistan. There will be a presentation on the
crisis facing Canada and other imperialist countries in their
efforts to suppress the rapidly growing resistance in
Afghanistan. Also this class will discuss why the Conservatives,
Liberals, and other political parties in Canada are calling on
other countries to send more troops to help occupy Afghanistan.

On Saturday March 15th hundreds of cities across the
world will take to the streets demanding an end to US
aggression and sanctions on Iran and an immediate end
to the Iraq war, five years after the US began its war
on this Middle Eastern country. The US/UK war on Iraq
has already killed at least 1.2 million Iraqis, and
now this war drive is threatening the people of Iran
with war. In Vancouver Stopwar.ca is organizing a
March and Rally that MAWO is fully endorsing and
participating in. Join social justice and antiwar
activists in demanding an end to all these wars,
sanctions, and aggressions by Canada and the US.

Then on Sunday, March 16th, MAWO organizers are
catching buses down to Seattle, Washington for an
anti-war conference. The main speaker of this
conference will be MAWO cochair and spokesperson
Alison Bodine, who is currently fighting a 2 year ban
from Canada. Alison is a US citizen and an antiwar
activist who was politically targeted by the
government of Canada in late 2007 and forced out of
the country for two years. MAWO will be joining
American antiwar activists from the International
ANSWER Coalition in Seattle to host an antiwar
conference focusing on the tragedy of war and
occupation as well as the domestic attacks by
the governments of the US and Canada against
immigrants, refugees, nonstatus people, and social
justice and antiwar activists. This international
conference against war and occupation is the first of
its kind organized by MAWO in collaboration with
ANSWER Seattle. Information on buses with MAWO will
soon be available.

Bringing together anti-war politics and music and
culture, MAWO will be joining talented musicians
together with antiwar organizers and activists for a
cultural night of resistance. Local musicians will be
spinning tracks and combining the words of resistance
with rhyme and rhythm… Come join MAWO, local talent,
and music lovers for this exciting event.
