On July 4th, US Independence day, we invite you to watch 2 films about US terrorism in Latin America. The first "Septembers and More" talks about US-backed attacks on Latin America from Cuba to Chile. The second film, "Mission Against Terror" explains Cuba’s 50 year struggle for independence from US-backed terrorism in their country and the 5 Cuban heroes who tried to stop it and are currently jailed political prisoners in the United States. 

This exciting event will feature:
~ FILMS: 
  ((1)) Septembers and More
  ((2)) Mission Against Terror
~ POETRY readings in English and Spanish
~ OPEN MIC: read your poems (English or Spanish)
~ Snacks & refreshments will be served

Admission by donation. 
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Cuba today is advancing revolutionary ideas not only in the sphere of politics, but also culture. Cuba's revolutionary ideas have become an inspiration for many countries, and their people, in Latin America and
around the world. Cuba has become a pioneer both in defence of human dignity, by resisting against the vicious US government and in human culture by promoting the most revolutionary ideas and experiments. 

Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) is organizing monthly Cuba cultural nights in Vancouver on the first Friday of every month in appreciation of Cuba’s contributions to human civilization. VCSC’s goal is to open more opportunities for everyone to find out more about the Cuban cultural experience. These cultural nights will include casual cultural and political discourse. We invite you to join us in developing and expanding the concept of the Battle of Ideas in the cultural arena.
