Ernesto Che Guevara has become a revolutionary symbol who represents
the continuity of revolutionary socialist theory and practice. His
legacy has been an inspiration in the dynamic search for ways and means
to confront imperialism and the capitalist profit-driven system.
Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) is organizing this
first International Conference in Canada on Che Guevara’s contribution
to the revolutionary cause. The conference will feature speakers from
Cuba, Canada, the US, England & the Middle East.

"Che and the Cuban Revolution" Presentation by Isaac Saney 

Isaac Saney is a faculty member of College of Continuing Education at
Dalhousie University, and an adjunct professor of International
Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University, both in Halifax. He is
the author of the highly acclaimed book on Cuba: A Revolution In
Motion, which is being used in many university courses.

John Waller is the International Coordinator of the Pastors for Peace
Caravan to Cuba

"Che and Latin America! Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela and Che’s
Influence" Presentation by Samira Amndan, followed by discussion. 

Samira Amndan is a Diplomatic Attaché for the Venezuelan Consulate in
Toronto

"Cuban Youth and Che’s Ideas" 
Presentation by Irma Gonzalez and Jairo Rodriguez, followed by
discussion.

Irma Gonzalez Salanueva is a young student leader at the University of
Havana and the daughter of Rene Gonalez, one of the 5 Cuban Heroes
currently held in U.S. prisons. Irma is also a leader of the Union of
Young Communists (UJC). 

Jairo Rodriguez Hernandez is a student leader in the Union of Young
Communists(UJC) in Havana, Cuba. Jairo is also the Vice President of
the University Students Federation (FEU) in Havana Province.
