Join MAWO as we continue our bi-weekly education
classes to discuss in-depth issues relating to the
antiwar movement and analysis of the new era of war
and occupation. There will be a continuation of the
last class on Iran:
> A balance sheet of the last year of US political and
military offensives toward Iran.
> Why the increased US military aggression on Iran?
> What are the political issues at stake?
> What are the tasks of the antiwar movement in
defending the Iranian people?

2007 saw 30 Canadian soldiers killed in the
Canada/NATO occupation of Afghanistan with the death
of another soldier on Dec.30, and 2008 opened with two
more soldier deaths on Jan.6th, bringing the Canadian
soldier death toll to 76. In 2008 we must continue to
mobilize and organize on the streets of Vancouver
against Canada military presence in Afghanistan
demanding:
"Canada / NATO Out of Afghanistan!"
"Independent Public Inquiry Now!"

Join MAWO to help plan events for a new year of
struggle against war and occupation! This meeting will
be reporting back from the Canada Out of Afghanistan
picket action, as well as planning upcoming actions
including the next Antiwar Rally demanding: NO WAR ON
IRAN! This rally is in response to the increasing
threats against Iran and is co-organized by MAWO and
the Iranian Community Against War (ICAW).

The US war drive is looking to expand and we are
witnessing the continuing and escalating threats of
attack against Iran. This is through propaganda and
slander campaigns, a military buildup in the Persian
Gulf, and new sanctions attacking the Iranian Defence
Ministry, the Revolutionary Guards, and major Iranian
banks. MAWO and ICAW are organizing this rally
together as part of a building campaign to defend Iran
against possible US attack and furthered sanctions. We
must continue to organize against these threats of
impending war and demanding NO WAR ON IRAN!
