The first day of the Antiwar Film Festival, ‘War, War & More War’ was a great success, with many people who attended films that focused on the wars of the past and present. Guest speakers and directors brought a closer connection to the educational, emotional and thought provoking films.

After a day of seeing the wars against oppressed nations around the world, and the struggle of people for their human rights and self determination, Day Two will follow the theme ‘US War on Human Rights: The Case of the Cuban 5, Mumia Abu Jamal, and Leonard Peltier’ In Honor of the Resistance of these Political Prisoners.

The stories of struggle in the face of corruption and violence both at home and abroad range from the horrific to stunning. They document death and destruction, as well as the capacity of oppressed people to unite in defense of their rights and dignity. 

Along with films, the festival features talks from guest speakers and directors and social justice art exhibits. Food and refreshments will be available.
