Antiwar and Social Justice Activists Under Attack!
“Drop All Charges Against Alison Bodine Now!”
SATURDAY September 22nd
6:30PM
Chilean Housing Co-op (3390 School Ave.)

Emergency appeal to all people in struggle! Alison Bodine, an antiwar activist
with MAWO and US citizen was arrested on Thursday Sept. 13th, 2007, when
she returned to the US/Canada border to reclaim previously detained political
materials. Released due to public pressure, she still is facing an Immigration
Admissibility Hearing. Alison’s case is a further attack on immigrants, refugees
and all non-residents and is clearly a political case as she is being targeted as
an antiwar and social justice activist. As fellow social justice and antiwar activists
we must unite to demand: ”DROP ALL CHARGES AGAINST ALISON NOW!”

~-~-~-~-~-~- ~-~-~-~-~ -~-~-~
>>> WEDNESDAY September 19th, 2007
6:30PM
Large North Hall of Joe's Cafe
(on Commercial Drive at Williams St)

>From the Southern US states in the 1950’s Civil Rights Movement, to
the “Out Now” slogan of Vietnam’s Antiwar Movement to today, activists
continue to face arrest and intimidation. These tactics are striking closer
to home as Alison Bodine, a political organizer and social justice activist
with MAWO was recently arrested by the Canada Border Services Agency
after her antiwar literature was detained. She will be outlining the significance
of her case along side the experiences of a veteran social justice activist of
the Vietnam Antiwar and US Civil Rights Movements, MAWO member David
Whittlesey. For further analysis we will be hearing from Ali Yerevani, political
editor of the Fire This Time Newspaper, participant of the 1979 Iranian
Revolution, and Executive Member of CUPE 15. Join in for in depth discussion
on this topic of importance to all antiwar and social justice activists.

returning home in coffins. Here at home, military spending
skyrockets as social services budgets plummet. Join us as MAWO
continues to consistently respond to the growing era of war and
occupation, with direct actions to take the demands of “Canada Out
Of Afghanistan” to the streets!

((( 5 ))) STUDENT WEEK AGAINST WAR AN OCCUPATION – SWAWO
~-~-~-~-~-~- ~-~-~-~-~ -~-~-~

School is back in session and MAWO is organizing with
antiwar groups on campus across the lower mainland
to bring a coordinated week of workshops, forums, film

war abroad has impacted students to get involved in organizing
against this current era of war and occupation!
