Join us as we plan upcoming antiwar organizing
including picket actions, the 5th Annual Antiwar Film
Festival and more. In MAWO we are organizing our
winter campaign of antiwar activities, and this week’s
organizing meeting is a chance to get involved and
help us build a powerful and dynamic calendar of
events to educate, organize and mobilize against war
and occupation.

Ban 10,000 Petition Drive!

Politically targeted MAWO Co-Chair Alison Bodine is
now fighting the 2 year ban from Canada in the United
States, as the Alison Bodine Defence Committee
launches a campaign to collect 10,000 petitions and
letters appealing to Minister of Citizenship &
Immigration Canada Diane Finley and the Federal
Court of Canada to lift the ban on Alison Bodine.

Canada’s occupation of Afghanistan has led to the
deaths of over 5,000 Afghan people since January
2007, and with 2 recent deaths the Canadian death
toll now sits at 73. The government of Canada
continues to pour billions of taxpayer dollars into
the military budget while this war and occupation has
brought only destruction and killing to Afghan
people.
As regular people living in Canada, we must take to
the streets to oppose this brutal war drive and
demand:
"Canada / NATO Out of Afghanistan!"
"Independent Public Inquiry Now!"

politics. In its 5th year, the festival has entrenched
itself as a Vancouver tradition of culture and
resistance via the big screen!
