>>> FRIDAY AUGUST 31st6:30PMBURNABY PUBLIC LIBRARY - Metrotown Branch 6100 Willingdon Avenue in Burnaby(near Willingdon & Kingsway)
Since Canada & NATO started their brutal occupation of
Afghanistan in 2002, 70 Canadian soldiers have died.
According to the Canadian Government these deaths are for
the sake of protecting “Canadian interests.” But whose
interests are these? Since the occupation we have seen
more than 6.5 million Afghans face malnutrition and
starvation. There have been tens of thousands of Afghans
killed since 2001. In only the 9 months from January 2007
to present over 600 Afghan civilians have been killed.
Clearly Afghan people are not benefiting from this war &
occupation. We must ask, what could be the alternative to
this ongoing death, destruction and plunder of the war and
occupation in Afghanistan?
Join us in this informative forum that will provide ample
time for discussion and education, facilitated by a panel of
speakers and featuring a dynamic multimedia presentation on
Canada’s war drive in Afghanistan.
Panelists will Include:
~ Nita Palmer, MAWO Acting Secretary, Researcher and Writer of
numerous articles on Afghanistan
~ Ali Yerevani, Political Editor of the Fire This Time Newspaper
