DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP?
A FREE COMMUNITY FORUM

Ask yourself: Should governments and business leaders be allowed to
single-handedly re-design the continent in ways that mostly benefit
corporations? Should the public be denied access to this process and kept
in the dark about the specifics of the secretive plans?

If you answered no, come out to learn about this NAFTA-plus-Homeland

The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America is a highly
secretive NAFTA-plus-Homeland agreement founded in March 2005 by the Heads
of State of Canada, the US, and Mexico. SPP is not an official treaty;
therefore it has been able to escape any public scrutiny. The major drive
behind the SPP is a CEO-based corporate lobby organization.

The SPP is a NAFTA-plus-Homeland-Security model and will involve the
harmonization of over 300 areas of regulations, including integration of
the military and police forces as part of the "War on Terror"; loss of
stable, unionized jobs with a shift towards more casual and temporary work
creating more poverty and economic insecurity; coordination of no-fly
lists and border harassment; expedited resource extraction particularly
oil and water, including five time expansion of oil production at the tar
sands in Albert; and reduction in health and environmental regulations
including a North American "alternative" to the Kyoto Protocol.

The educational event on Saturday August 11th is a lead-up event to August
20th, a continental day of action to oppose the SPP when Bush, Harper, and
Calderon will be meeting in Montebello, Quebec at a SPP Summit.
