Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) has held
weekly organizing meetings since the coalition's
inception in October 29, 2003 in Vancouver. These organizing meetings have
always begun with a one hour political report and discussion at the begining
of each meeting. This work has met with success in expanding and connecting
antiwar sentiment in people in the Lower Mainland in the last 3 years.

In order to continue to promote the growth of a strong movement against war
& occupation, and meet the increasing demand for more education and
discussion, with the increasingly aggressive war drives from Canada, US, UK
and other imperialist countries, MAWO has begun a series of bi-weekly
educational classes based on this new reality and necessity. By
combining deeper political understanding with
consistent and ongoing organizing our movement-building forces will become
stronger and more effective.

The educational classes will alternate with organizing
meetings, each happening every second week. The second
class of this series continues with the theme "Roots &
Causes of Conflict in the Middle East". Wednesday
October 4th will be a MAWO organizing meeting to
continue to organize for the 5th Student Week Against
War & Occupation October 16-27th and the International
Weekend of Action with the call for action October
28th and MAWO's all-day antiwar conference October
29th.

Everyone interested in building an effective and
strong movement against war and occupation is invited
and welcomed to attend classes and organizing
meetings!
