Join us for the next meeting of Mobilization Against War &
Occupation - MAWO:

*********************************
==Wednesday September 20
==6:30pm
==@ the Britannia Community Center
(1661 Napier St – on Commercial Drive at Napier St)
*********************************

Join us at this week’s MAWO meeting to organize for an emergency
action in response to Monday's death of 4 more Canadian soldiers
in Afghanistan, the ongoing criminal occupation, the deployment
of 450 more ground troops and 15 tanks, and the brutal
"Operation Medusa" that has killed over 500 Afghan people in the
last 2 weeks. MAWO’s 19th Emergency Picket Protest Action to
"Bring the Troops Home!" will be Thursday September 21 @ 12:30pm
at the Canadian Armed Forces Recruitment Center (1070 W Georgia
St).

After the first week of the return to classes from the summer
'break' and as the Canadian military recruiters intensify their
focus on students, we will also continue our preperations for
bringing the Fall 2006 "Student Week Against War and Occupation"
to college, university, and high school classes and campuses
across the Lower Mainland and beyond.

The successful September 16 MAWO demonstration demanding US/UK
Out of Iraq! Canada Out of Afganistan! and Israel Out of Lebanon
& Palestine! was covered this Monday in the 24hours daily
newspaper - Click:
www.mawovancouver.org/images/060918_24hrscoverage.jpg
to view the article on MAWO’s growing petition to bring Canada’s
troops home from Afghanistan and end the occupation. Nearly
12,000 people in the Lower Mainland have shown their opposition
and the list is growing!

We welcome all interested in organizing these actions and more
as part of an effective movement against war and occuption to
Wednesday's MAWO meeting!
