For over eight years now 5 Cuban men have been held
away from their families, friends, and country in U.S.
jails. Why? 

Since 1959 right wing anti-Cuban terrorist groups in
Miami have been responsible for the deaths of over
3,500 Cuban people. The Cuban 5 were sent on a mission
by the Cuban government to collect evidence on these
groups' activities and present it to the Cuban and US
governments.

Instead of using this evidence to arrest any of the
terrorists in Miami, the U.S. jailed these 5
anti-terrorist Cubans. Framed for crimes they did not
commit, these five heroes were sentenced from anywhere
between 15 years and a double life sentence in US
prisons. 

This case thoroughly exposes the hypocrisy of the U.S.
government, which claims to be fighting a “War on
Terror” yet would not go after terrorists operating on
U.S. soil.

Recently on Aug. 9th 2006, just before the 8th
anniversary of their unjust imprisonment, the 11th
Circuit Court of Appeals issued its “en banc” decision
denying a retrial to the 5 Cuban Heroes. 

Please join us to listen to the stories of love, hope
and fighting spirit from the Irma González, daughter
of Rene González, and Elizabeth Palmeiro, the wife of
Ramón Labañino, visiting Vancouver as part of their
Canada-wide tour to Free the Cuban 5. Irma and
Elizabeth, along with millions of people in Cuba and
all around the world, are fighting to raise awareness
about this case and to free their innocent brothers,
husbands, and fathers unjustly and criminally held in
U.S. prisons.

This event will also feature a special introduction by
former Vancouver City Councillor Tim Louis.

Por mas de ocho años cinco hombres cubanos han sido
encarcelados, lejos de sus familias, amigos, y de su
patria, en los E.U. ¿Porque?

Desde 1959 grupos terroristas anti-cubanos de derecha
en Miami han sido responsables de las muertes de mas
de 3,500 personas cubanas. 

Los Cinco Heroes fueron enviados en una mision por el
Gobierno de Cuba para recolectar evidencia sobre las
actividades de estos grupos y presentarsela a la FBI.

En vez de usar esta evidencia para arestar algunos de
los terroristas de Miami, los E.u. encarcelo a estos
cinco cubanos anti-terroristas. Acusados de crimenes
qué no cometieron, estos Cinco Héroes fueron
condenados a permanecer en prisiones estadounidenses
desde quince años hasta doble cadena perpetua. Este
caso claramente expone la hipocrasia del gobierno
estadounidense, qué dice estar librando una "Guerra
contra el Terrorismo", a pesar de qué se niega a
procesar terrorista que operan dentro do los mismos
E.U.

Recientemente en el 9 de Agosto, 2006, justo antes del
octavo Aniversario de su encarcelamiento injusto, la
Decima Primera Circuit Court of Appeals emitio su
desicion "en banc" negandole un nuevo proceso a los
Cinco Hèroes Cubanos.

Unase a nosotros para escuchar historias de amor,
esperanza, y del espiritu combatiente de Irma
González, hija de Rene González, y de Elizabeth
Palmeiro, la esposa de Ramón Labañino, visitando a
Vancouver como parte de su tour Canadiense para
Liberar los Cinco Héroes. Irma y Elizabeth, a lado de
millones de gente en Cuba y alrededor del mundo estan
luchando para elevar la consiencia sobre este caso y
para liberar a sus hermanos, esposos, y padres
inocentes encarcelados injustamente en los E.U.
