You are invited to join Mobilization Against War &
Occupation (MAWO) for our next bi-weekly educational
class in the series “Organizing in the Era of War &
Occupation”. The class this week is titled “The Making
of the Era of War & Occupation“ and will delve deeper
from last week's discussion into why the US, Canada,
UK and all imperialist countries have turned to a
policy of waging wars and occupations as a way to
solve their economic crises.

Our first classes in this series ("Roots and Causes of
Crisis in the Middle East" and "Why the War Began")
have been very successful with active participation of
MAWO organizers and many new participants. MAWO
invites
those interested in building an effective anti-war
movement to come and participate in these educational
classes as an important part of our work and the
anti-war movement.

This week’s class will end with an organizing point as
we prepare to launch into the Lower Mainland’s 5th
Student Week Against War & Occupation (SWAWO) - 10
days of coordinated antiwar actions and events taking
place on college, university and high school campuses
beginning next Monday, October 16th. SWAWO Fall 2006
will build up to the International Weekend of Action
with the call for action October 28th and MAWO's
all-day antiwar conference October 29th.

MAWO educational classes alternate with organizing
meetings, each happening every second week. Wednesday
October 18th will be our next full MAWO organizing
meeting at 6:30pm at the Britannia Community Center
(1661 Napier St – on Commercial Dr at Napier St).

Everyone interested in building an effective and
strong movement against war and occupation is invited
and welcomed to attend classes and organizing
meetings!
