On Tuesday October 3rd two Canadian soldiers died in
combat with Afghan anti-occupation resistance forces
in Southern Afghanistan. These deaths, in an area that
the Canadian forces had declared already “cleared” of
anti-occupation fighters, brought the death toll of
Canadian soldiers to 39 – with 31 of these deaths
occurring since Canada’s combat mission began in
Southern Afghanistan in February of this year.

Operation MEDUSA, launched and led by Canada from
September 2nd, has claimed at least 14 Canadian
soldiers and an unknown number more than “roughly
1,000” Afghan people.

In response to these deaths and calling for “Troops
Home Now!” Mobilization Against War and Occupation
(MAWO) encourages you to join us for an emergency
picket action to take place in front of the Canada
Forces Recruitment Centre in Downtown Vancouver at
4pm on Thursday October 5th.
