Emergency Picket Protest Action
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2006
12:30PM-1:30PM

Vancouver)

On Saturday November 25th while more than 250 protesters were chanting
"Canada Out of Afghanistan!" at the MAWO antiwar rally downtown Vancouver,
two more NATO soldiers died as part of occupation forces in Afghanistan. A
reported 55 Afghan people were also killed in this weekend's fighting. This
was followed by the Monday November 27th death of two more Canadian soldiers
in Afghanistan, bringing the total
Canadian soldiers dead in the occupation to 44.

This rising tally of death is the result of an escalation of deadly combat
operations involving Canadian and NATO occupying forces in Afghanistan in
recent months. NATO estimates at least 3800 people have been killed by the
occupation of Afghanistan this year. This irreconcilable clash of interests,
the occupiers against the occupied Afghan people, continues to show that
Canadian, US, and NATO forces
have no role in Afghanistan that is in the interest of Afghan people - the
occupation has only resulted in death and destruction. Last weekend's
antiwar rally in Vancouver and the 12,000 signatures on MAWO's "Canada Out
of Afghanistan!" petition also show that people in Canada are beginning to
question and oppose the occupation more and more.

MAWO is calling again for all peace-loving, humanist and antiwar people in
the Lower Mainland to join the 23rd picket protest action at the Canadian
Armed Forces Recruitment Center since the July 2005 announcement that Canada
would be doubling its forces in Afghanistan.

On Thursday November 30th we will protest these deaths and the further
destruction that is assured by the continuation of war and occupation.

BRING ALL TROOPS HOME NOW!
CANADA OUT OF AFGHANISTAN NOW!
