1. Youth in Action for Change: How Students & Young
People Can Change the World!

Join us for this exciting workshop that connects youth in Canada to youth 
around the world, through multimedia presentations and discussion. This is 
an event for every young person who wants to change the world.

Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) is an anti-war, pro-peace 
coalition in the B.C. Lower Mainland, composed of more than 50 endorsing 
member groups. Aside from organizing Vancouver’s annual anti-war Film 
Festival and anti-war hip-hop music festival, MAWO has been active since 
2003 in raising awareness about war through educational forums,conferences, 
and monthly demonstrations for peace.

2. The Black Hills Action Camp: Indigenous Youth Take
Action Against War & Occupation!

In October 2005, Native youth from across Canada and the US gathered in 
South Dakota to discuss methods of activism. This workshop will report on 
action training at the Black Hills Action Camp. The workshop will also 
outline the role and situation of Native youth in today’s society, and how 
they can organize and overcome challenges and barriers to make change - 
against war, occupation and for self-determination for all oppressed 
nations.

Aaron Mercredi is a Metis organizer with Mobilization Against War & 
Occupation (MAWO) and a Board Member of the Redwire Native Youth Media 
Society.
