The next meeting of Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) will be....
 
WEDNESDAY MAY 4
@ 6:30pm
at the Britannia Community Center
 
This past week saw several important events against imperialism and colonialism. Held at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Center, the MAWO guest speakers event featuring organizers with the Western Shoshone Defense Project drew out more than 70 youth and indigenous people who participated in the impassioned discussion on the importance for all oppressed people to support the struggle of Indigenous people for sovereignty. As well, this past week also saw MAWO organizers participate in the rally for the Women's Charter for Humanity and the Vancouver Mayday 2005 march and rally with more than 700 people downtown Vancouver. One of the event's main themes was "Stop Attacks on Workers at Home and Abroad", connecting with the fight against attacks on oppressed people under war and occupation and attacks on oppressed people in Canada as well. These successful political events have mobilized many people in the important fight against imperialism and colonialism and we must continue this
 work. All are welcome to join us as we organize against war and occupation into the summer and beyond!
