[antiwar-van] Next MAWO Meeting: June 15

Next MAWO meeting is this Wednesday, June 15 @ 6:30pm at the
Britannia Community Center.

We would like to send a big congratulations to everyone who
participated in and worked on the tremendous success of the first
ever Hip Hop Festival Against War and Occupation! More than 1200
people came out to the 5 different shows and events from downtown
Vancouver all the way out to Edmonds Community Center in Burnaby.
This festival really opened up uncharted territory for the antiwar
movement in collaboration with hip hop as an international phenomenon
of resistance culture. By combining the protest music of today with
the most important social movement of the 21st century, MAWO was able
to reach scores of new people and diversify and strengthen the
antiwar movement.

Again, congratulations everyone on a groundbreaking festival - this
was an important step forward for MAWO and the antiwar movement!
